PPC Web Spy by Brad Callen of Bryxen Software is a Firefox Web Browser Plugin. PPC Web Spy acts as a PPC or market research tool by providing statistical market research for PPC (pay per click) Adwords. It is marketed as a competitor “spying” tool which can be used to discover a PPC advertisers keywords, ad position, average CPC (cost per click), Max CPC, clicks per day and cost per day.

How does PPC Web Spy Work?

Any user who has installed the PPC Web Spy Firefox Plugin can perform a search on any keyword on Google. Any PPC listings that are displayed on the front page have a “keywords” button displayed below the ad. When the user clicks on the ad a popup window appears which displays a range of information for “spying” on your competitors. All market research information can be organized by column by simply clicking on the column heading displayed in PPC Web Spy.

Sophisticated PPC marketers can use this information to stage a new campaign based on the statistical data they collect. In theory this information will show a new advertiser what is working for others and what isn’t.

PPC Web Spy is also useful in developing targeted keyword lists without spending a lot of time on research.
